Step 1: Launching Quicklink Remote Studio
Before anything else, head to the Remote Studio interface by clicking here. Connect using the IP address and port of your Quicklink ST250 unit. If you have set up a password, enter it into Password. Then click Connect.
Step 2: Build the elements of your production
You're now connected to QuicklinkRemote Studio! From this web-based interface, you will have all the functionality you need to build and control your studio. To start adding sources to your project, click SETTINGS.
From the GENERAL tab, you can choose to enter a name and description for your project. You can also set the resolution and FPS. Next, select the SETUP tab.
From the SETUP settings, you will configure the different elements of your studio. The first tab you come to will be CAMERAS. Here you can add up to 4 SDI or NDI cameras. Click the ASSIGN dropdown arrow to select SDI or NDI.
Once your source is selected, select the Device connected from the list.
Now that you have added a camera to your production, you'll want to configure control of it. Click the PTZ tab.
Click the plus icon to add a PTZ. Enter the IP Address of the camera you want to control.
Make sure the VISCA (UDP) Port is correct for your camera.
To add a DMX light to your project, select the LIGHTING tab, then click the plus icon to add a light. Then click the expand arrow to add your parameters.
Here you can set the amount of channels you need, what address each one uses and also enter a friendly name if you wish. Click SAVE to add these to your project.
To add any microphone signals to your project, you'll need to enable the Preamps. Click the AUDIO tab then click the plus icon to add as many channels as you need up to 4.
Click SAVE to lock in all those devices and settings to your project.
Step 3: Control of your project
All the control of your project can be handled from the main page of the Remote Studio interface. From here you have control of your camera(s), audio and lighting. You can also start/stop the program recording, which is detailed further into this article.
Step 4: Starting your first stream
Congratulations, you have just built your first Remote Studio production - and you're now ready to start streaming. Open the main setting window by clicking SETTINGS.
Navigate to the STREAMING tab.
From STREAMING you can choose to stream via SRT, RTMP or a designated streaming service. Here we're going to stream our first production to Twitch. Select Twitch from the Services section.
You'll need to obtain your Stream Key from Twitch, this can be found within your Twitch Dashboard. Once you have obtained your stream key, paste it into the Stream Key. Click SAVE to apply these settings.
You'll Good job, you're ready to begin your stream! When ready, click Start Streaming.
Step 5: Output your production
In addition to streaming, you may also wish to output your production via SDI. From the Settings, select the OUTPUT tab.
In the Decklink section, select the output you would like to use from the Device dropdown list.
When you're ready to start outputting, click START.
Step 6: Recording
You've successfully learnt how to start streaming and outputting your studio production. As well as streaming or recording, you may want to record your feed for post-production purposes. To begin recording, click START PGM RECORD from the top-right of the Remote Studio interface.
When you're ready to stop recording, simply press STOP PGM RECORD.
