Navigate to Amazon Web Services (AWS), and sign in.
Once logged in, within Services, navigate to EC2. This can be done by locating through recent/all services, or by simply searching EC2.
Within the EC2 Instances, select your chosen Region from the top-right corner.
Next select Launch Instances from the top-right corner.
Once your instances are open, search Teradici and select the AWS Marketplace tab. Select the Teradici CAS for windows server 2019 (NVIDIA).
Pricing and information for this application is displayed. Once familiar, click Continue.
You will now need to select your instance type, select the g4dn.4xlarge instance, then click Next: Configure instance Details.
Next, set the Audio-assign Public IP to Enable, then click Next: Add Storage.
You will not need to set your storage. For events where basic storage is required, and the Quicklink Switcher is mainly used for RTMP/SRT streaming with little recording, 30 GiB will be sufficient. This field can be adjusted based on your preference, and can be increased at a later date if required. When configured, click Next: Add Tags.
Within the Add Tags step, click Next: Configure Security Group.
You will now need to configure your Security Group. Firstly you will need to remove the RDP type, as this will not be required. To do this, select the X icon within the RDP line.
Next you will need to configure the Source for your group. If your instance will be accessed from multiple destinations, use Anywhere as the Source. Alternatively, if the instance is to be accessed from a single location, select My IP. Then select Review and Launch.
Review your instance configuration, then click Launch.
You will now be prompted to select an existing key pair or create a new key pair. Select Create a new key pair, then enter a friendly name for your Key pair, such as Teradici.
Once entered, click Download Key Pair to download your key. This key is extremely important as it is used to enter your Teradici instance. Once downloaded, click Launch Instances.
Your instance will now begin launching. Navigate back to your EC2 Instances. Your created instance will be available and the current state will display. Please note that it may take a few minutes until your instance is in a Running state.
It is now good practice to give your Instance a friendly name. To do this, hover over the instance name, then click the edit icon. Enter a friendly name, such as Cloud Switcher.
Next, right-click your newly created instance and click Connect.
Select the RDP client tab, then click Get password. This may take a couple of minutes for your password to be available.
Once available, you will need to decrypt your instance password by uploading the key pair downloaded previously. Click Browse, then select the Key pair file downloaded previously. Once uploaded, click Decrypt Password.
Your password will now be decrypted. Copy and make a note of this password, this password is extremely important as it is used to connect to your instance.
Returning back to your EC2 instances, select the Elastic IPs section from the menu on the left-hand side.
Next, select Allocate Elastic IP addresses.
Now select Allocate.
Your Elastic IP address will now be allocated. Now select your allocated Elastic IP address just created, then click the Actions drop-down menu, and select Associate Elastic IP address.
Within the Instance option, select the Teradici instance created previously, then click Associate.
Your Elastic IP will now be assigned. To check this, navigate to your EC2 Instances and ensure an IP is within the Elastic IP column of your Teradici instance. Make a note of the Elastic IP displayed here, as this will be the IP you connect using.
You will now need to download the Teradici software client. Navigate to the Teradici Software and Mobile Clients download page. Select the option for your chosen operating system; Windows, macOS or Linux.
Once selected, click Downloads and scripts. Read through the license agreement, once happy click Agree, then click Download now.
Once downloaded, run the Teradici PCoIP client installer and follow steps for installing.
When your installation has completed, launch the PCoIP client application.
Within the Host Address or Code field, enter the Elastic IP created previously, then enter a friendly connection such as Quicklink Switcher. Click NEXT.
You may get a certificate popup warning, click Connect Insecurely.
You will now be prompted to enter a username and password. Within the username field, enter Administrator. Within the password field, enter the password that was decrypted and copied previously. When entered, click LOGIN.
Your instance will now boot and appear. There will now be a little configuration/setup needed on the instance. On the Windows toolbar, click the Networks icon in the bottom-right corner. When prompted, click Yes to allow your PC to be discoverable by other PCs and devices on the network.
Next, click the audio icon from the Windows toolbar in the bottom-right corner. A prompt will appear to enable Windows Audio Service, click Yes.
You will now need allow apps to access your Camera and Microphone. Open the Windows menu by selecting the Windows icon from the bottom-left corner, search camera then select Camera privacy settings.
Within the Allow apps to access your camera section, change from Off to On.
Select the Microphone privacy settings tag from the left-hand side. Within the Allow apps to access your microphone section, change from Off to On.
You will now need to configure your Server Manager settings. Open the Windows menu by selecting the Windows icon from the bottom-left corner, search server then select Server Manager.
Within the Server Manager settings, select the Local Server tab. Within the Properties, select Unknown next to IE Enhanced Security Configuration to configure Internet Explorer.
A configuration window will pop-up. Change the Administrators and Users option to Off. Then click OK to save and close.
Next, launch Windows Explorer from the Windows toolbar. Once launched. select the settings icon in the top-right corner to open Windows Explorer's settings, then click Internet options.
Select the Security tab, then drag the Allowed level to Medium (lowest level).
