Quick start guide to QuickLink ST2110

This guide walks you through preparing Matrox network interfaces and completing the SMPTE ST 2110 setup with QuickLink hardware.

1) Check Matrox drivers are installed

  • Look in the Windows system tray (hidden icons) for the Matrox utility (X.info);

  • Or open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (called Apps & features on some Windows versions) and confirm the Matrox drivers/utilities are listed. The current release is 11.2.101.2604.

If drivers are missing, install them through the Quicklink 2110 config app before continuing. You can use 'Install Matrox Driver' button under 'Installation tab'.

2) Assign IP settings to the Matrox network adapters

  1. Open Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network Connections
Shortcut: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections.
  2. Identify the Matrox NICs used for ST 2110.
  3. Right‑click each adapter → PropertiesInternet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)Properties.
  4. Enter the required IP address, Subnet mask, and Gateway.

Note: These network settings are visible inside the QuickLink 2110 Configuration Tool, but they must be configured in Windows as above.

3) Complete the ST 2110 setup

  1. Launch QuickLink 2110 Config from the Windows desktop.
  2. Follow your site’s ST 2110 plan (IPs, multicast ranges, PTP, etc.).
  3. If you need definitions during setup, see the QuickLink Glossary of terms:
    https://support.quicklink.tv/hc/en-us/articles/40566948613137-Glossary-of-terms

4) If QuickLink 2110 Config looks out of date

If the QuickLink 2110 Configuration tool appears out of date, run the latest StudioPro installer. During the update, you will be prompted to install the current Matrox driver and the latest version of QuickLink 2110 Configuration. These updates are completed automatically as part of the installation process.

You will be prompted with this message if an upgrade is required.

Follow through the installer with 'next' each time until prompted for a reboot.

Reboot the system and you'll see the updated QuickLink 2110 Config app. With this app you will be able to configure the device as before.

Tips & Notes

  • Keep a record of the IPs you assign to each Matrox adapter.
  • Ensure Windows Firewall or security software isn’t blocking required ST 2110/PTP traffic on the relevant interfaces.
  • Apply identical MTU and QoS settings across the 2110 network as per your deployment standards.
