This guide walks you through preparing Matrox network interfaces and completing the SMPTE ST 2110 setup with StudioEdge.
1) Check Matrox drivers are installed
- Look in the Windows system tray (hidden icons) for the Matrox utility; or
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (called Apps & features on some Windows versions) and confirm the Matrox drivers/utilities are listed.
If drivers are missing, install them through the StudioEdge config app before continuing.
2) Assign IP settings to the Matrox network adapters
- Open Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network Connections
Shortcut:Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections. - Identify the Matrox NICs used for ST 2110.
- Right‑click each adapter → Properties → Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Properties.
- Enter the required IP address, Subnet mask, and (if applicable) Gateway/DNS.
Note: These network settings are visible inside the Quicklink Configuration Tool, but they must be configured in Windows as above.
3) Complete the ST 2110 setup in StudioEdge
- Launch StudioEdge Config from the Windows desktop.
- Follow your site’s ST 2110 plan (IPs, multicast ranges, PTP, etc.).
- If you need definitions during setup, see the Quicklink Glossary of terms:
https://support.quicklink.tv/hc/en-us/articles/40566948613137-Glossary-of-terms
4) If StudioEdge Config looks out of date
If the UI doesn’t reflect current options or devices:
- Close StudioEdge.
- Delete the
StudioEdge_Utilityfolder in Documents ("My Documents"). - Re‑launch StudioEdge — the utility folder will be recreated.
Tips & Notes
- Keep a record of the IPs you assign to each Matrox adapter.
- Ensure Windows Firewall or security software isn’t blocking required ST 2110/PTP traffic on the relevant interfaces.
- Apply identical MTU and QoS settings across the 2110 network as per your deployment standards.
