Introducing a Microsoft Teams Caller

Please note: this feature requires StudioEdge 4.5.0 or later. If your StudioEdge is older than the required version you will use the old workflow.

Please note: Currently, StudioEdge™ only supports corporate Microsoft Teams links.

With StudioEdge you can very easily introduce high-quality Microsoft Teams callers into your productions, including a participant's screen share.

Initiating a Microsoft Teams Call

The first thing you will need to do is log in to the StudioEdge portal (edge.quicklink.network) and connect to the StudioEdge device you wish to use. If you are unsure on how to do this, please refer to the Quick start guide to QuickLink Studio Edge article.

To add a Microsoft Teams caller, click the call button ( call.png ), then select Microsoft Teams from the available platforms.

Once you have assigned your channel to Microsoft Teams, you will be prompted to enter a Meeting Link.

If you haven't already created or scheduled a Microsoft Teams meeting, you can discover how to do this in the Creating/Scheduling a Microsoft Teams meeting for StudioEdge article.

Copying the Meeting Link

Once you have created your meeting, there are two ways you can access the Meeting Link to enter it into StudioEdge.

From your separate control PC, within the Microsoft Teams application, access the Calendar, and locate the Teams Meeting for your remote caller. Right-click the Meeting, and click Copy meeting link. Your Meeting Link will follow the format of: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/MEETING.

Alternatively, you can also access the Meeting Link from the email invitation. Locate the email meeting invitation, open the email, right-click the Join the meeting now, then click Copy Hyperlink. Your Meeting Link will follow the same format of: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/MEETING.

Connecting to the Meeting

Returning to the StudioEdge user interface, paste your copied link into the Meeting Link field and click CONNECT.

Depending on your Microsoft Teams account settings, you may have to approve the StudioEdge device to enter the meeting. Within the Teams meeting, navigate to People, and in the Waiting lobby, click Approve ( TeamsApprove.png ) for the Unknown user (Unverified) user.

Once StudioEdge has joined the meeting, the tile shows the participant list, the ADD CALLER button, a Disconnect link and a Copy Invite Link link. Click Copy Invite Link if you need to send the meeting link to a guest.
