What is it?
QuickLink Video and QuickLink Audio is our internal media transport system. In StudioPro they can provide low-latency media re-entry of audio and video between different parts of your production environment.
Key Features:
- Automatic Source Availability: When you start an output in StudioPro (e.g. Mix1), it automatically appears as a selectable ‘QuickLink Video’ or ‘QuickLink Audio’ source.
- Low Latency: Ideal for live workflows requiring fast and reliable media re-entry.
- Scene Simplification: Use mix outputs to manage transitions without switching entire scenes.
Example Workflow: Using QuickLink Video for Guest Caller Transition
Step-by-Step:
- Create a Video Mix (e.g. Mix1) in StudioPro.
Open settings and navigate to the Output Tab
In the drop-down menu select Mix1 for video and audio
Click Start
2. Add ‘QuickLink Video Source’ to your scene or downstream keyer (DSK) and then in properties set this to Mix1.
3. Now when you transition Mix1, it updates only the Mix 1 source, not the whole scene. This is similar to how M/E (Mix/Effect) buses work in traditional video switchers.
4. You can use this method to transition guest callers smoothly, using Mix1 as their media container.
Use Cases:
• Dynamic layering with clean transitions (e.g. remote guests, overlays).
• Internal routing between different StudioPro modules or outputs.
• Minimizing latency in live production environments.
