Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA), also known as two-step verification, offers an extra layer of account protection. When this option is enabled, upon login on an unrecognised device, a verification SMS is sent to the configured telephone number. As an additional layer of account security, it is extremely recommended that this option is enabled.

To enable two-factor authentication click the account name when logged in to the QuickLink StudioManager.

Click My Account from the drop-down menu.

With the My Account window open, tick the box next to Enable two-factor authentication. You will also need to ensure the telephone number and email is correct, and that the number can be accessed using an SMS-enabled device (such as a mobile).

Click Save when you're done to apply the settings.

You will need to log out for this to take effect.

Please note: Many platforms (like Google, Apple, GitHub) remember your device/browser after a successful 2FA. Once you have logged in with 2FA for the first time you will not be prompted again on that device unless there are any of the following changes:

- IP/Device changes
- You log in from a new device or browser.
- Your IP address changes dramatically (different city or country).
- You clear cookies or log out fully.
- There’s suspicious behavior (failed attempts, unusual activity).
