Streaming to Phenix

Using QuickLink StudioPro, you can easily stream your productions to millions of viewers with <1/2 second of latency, complete audience synchronization, and broadcast quality using Phenix RTS. If you are not already a Phenix customer, you can start a free trial, here.

In this article, you will learn how to locate your stream information within the Phenix Customer Portal, and how to configure and begin streaming from StudioPro. Please note, you can stream your StudioPro productions to Phenix using RTMP or SRT. This article will describe how to achieve this using RTMP.

The initial step is to log into your Phenix Customer Portal (www.phenixrts.com/portal).

Once logged in, select the EdgeAuth tab to create a stream with with the right capabilities.

Next, select the Publishing sub-tab.

Select the capabilities that suit your situation. For example. in this case, we have chosen "fhd" and "multi-bitrate" which enables a multi-bitrate ladder with adaptive bitrate (ABR) delivery.

From the RTMP section, copy and make a note of the Endpoint and Stream Key.

From StudioPro, open the Settings window by clicking the settings-icon.png icon. 

Add a new RTMP Target by clicking Add Target.

Give your stream a friendly name (i.e. Phenix Stream).

The Base URL for Phenix RTS is rtmp://ingest.phenixrts.com:80/ingest/. Enter this Base URL into RTMP Server. For more information, see here.

Next, you will need to paste the Stream Key you copied previously into RTMP Key. Then click OK.

You are now ready to stream to Phenix. When you are ready to go live, click Start Streaming on your RTMP Target.

Your stream will start and a time indicator will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the StudioPro interface. 

From the Phenix Customer Portal, you can also monitor your stream from the Preview page.
